The Magic Trifecta of Execution and Goal Setting with OKRs
We’re picking up right where we left off on our last lesson about deploying company vision. There, we covered the first 3 of a 4 step process to make your company vision stick which included :
1. Making sure the vision is real
2. Communicating the vision
3. Connecting employees to the customer

Now it’s time to finish up with perhaps the most important step: figuring out what your goals are and executing them. Without knowing your tangible action items and how to prioritize them, real progress will be nearly impossible. Let’s dive into the key steps for facilitating vision stickiness.

11/2019: Creating Culture and Painting the Vision Lesson 3 – Deploying the Vision

The first two lessons of this class focused on determining the foundation of your company. Part 1 outlined the steps of creating a strong mission statement (aka. the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of your company). In Part 2, we focused on implementing our mission statement through company alignment and structuring.
All these pieces combine to form the company vision. The next question is, how do you make that vision a reality? In this section, we’ll explore that process and explain why deploying your vision is even more important than the specifics of the vision itself.

09/19 | Defining Your Mission Statement

The Mission Statement
The hardest part of starting a company is knowing exactly where to start. It’s dangerously easy to focus on the wrong aspects of your operation or just standstill because you have no real plan. Understand that building a business means so much more than creating a cool product and selling it for profit. Without knowing WHAT you’re trying to build and WHY you’re trying to build it, there is no real vision for your company. It will stay as a loose idea with no legs. You’ll catch yourself making random decisions with no reasoning to back it up. This is a perfect recipe for killing your idea before it starts.
Clarity on your company’s goal gives a focus to cultivate enthusiasm around. It lays the common ground for you and your team to walk on. In this class, we will explore the process of finding clarity through your mission statement. Writing it provides a guiding light for you and your team to move towards, while also clearly communicating your “why”.
The first step of writing your mission statement is determining what your mission even is.

08/2019: How to Amass Your First 1,000 True Fans

1,000 True Fans Principle
Kevin Kelly’s definition of a true fan is “Somebody that will buy everything you put out.”
But having 1,000 true fans is about much more than getting 1,000 customers to buy your product. For that, you could really just do market testing, then sell it to 1,000 people.
The difference between fans and customers is that fans feel an emotional connection to you beyond the dollar. Having a fan means you are effectively delivering in a way other companies can’t. There has to be an intimate bond for them to want to buy EVERYTHING you put out.
In this class, we will cover the realities of creating this type of business and finding these fans.
*This class will be focused on how to gain your first 1,000 true fans outside of the scope of social media. However, please still do learn and engage in how to use all the social platforms to your advantage. It’s an absolute must in modern times.*
